HO & PG course Cluj 2018
Cancer of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract are the deadliest cancers worldwide. Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is leading with a 5 years overall survival of less than 6%, followed by liver and bile duct cancers – 18% 5years OS (same as lung cancer). While basic science researchers are making huge efforts to furnish tools for early diagnosis and better treatments, clinicians involved in the management of these recalcitrant cancers are faced with one of the most complex and challenging problems of the health care system.
The EFISDS course is organized in collaboration with ESDO and SRGH, aiming to present hot topics, difficulties in everyday practice, controversies and up-to-dates like: standards, guidelines, new AJCC staging and new treatments, a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to the management of cancers of the liver, pancreas, and bile ducts.
Participants from the medical community (surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists, endoscopists, etc) will benefit by ensuring the best existing treatments to these cancer patients and a better quality of health services. As EFISDS has already had several courses in European countries, we expect to have an attendance from all over Europe, and especially from young gastroenterologists, oncologists and HPB surgeons in Romania.
This symposium is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 12 European CME credits.
