The symposium addresses topics of real and immediate interest to surgeons who are approaching or embarking upon independent surgical practice across Europe.

A multimodal approach using didactic lectures, video presentations and small group question and answer sessions. Such approaches have proven educational validity.

The topics will encompass diverse aspects of surgical practice from the technical to the psychological. The event will be streamed live during lectures from the UK across Europe to maximise its educational reach across Europe.

State of the art medical and surgical practice will be demonstrated by the expert panel invited from across Europe. There will be an appreciation of the variable resources available to delegates from across different parts of Europe and lecturers will provide practical advice in addition to inspiring delegates to develop best practice.

A broad range of topics will be covered, such as acute and elective surgical practice, medical management of surgical conditions, nontechnical skills, the psychology of decision making and academic surgery.

This is an innovative and exciting programme. Delegates will be provided educational material of techniques favoured by the faculty of the most eminent colorectal surgeons.
